DISCOVER SOUTH WEST SCOTLAND FROM ST. MARY’S ISLE ESTATE
A family-run farm and sporting estate on a peninsula along the Solway Firth, St Mary’s Isle Estate offers a rare combination of coastal beauty, historic character and contemporary comfort. Located just outside the artists’ town of Kirkcudbright, it enjoys exceptional views across the Dee Estuary and the Solway Coast, with clear days revealing vistas as far as the Isle of Man and the Lake District.
Owned by the Hope-Dunbars for over 300 years, St Mary’s Isle is rooted in tradition and stewardship. In 2022, Charles, his wife Clare and their two young boys returned to take on the day-to-day running of the estate, embracing both its rich heritage and the vibrant community and landscape that surround it.
Alongside farming, residential cottages and a family-run pheasant shoot, a select number of cottages are being turned into high-quality holiday accommodation. With acres of rolling hills, sweeping sea views, plus the vibrant town of Kirkcudbright on the doorstep, St. Mary’s Isle Estate is a peaceful, coastal retreat.
